Marmoush, who plays for Wolfsburg, has been in fine form recently, scoring two goals during March against Eintracht Frankfurt and Stuttgart. He also scored with the national team in their last two matches against Malawi on AFCON qualifiers.
The 24-year-old forward is igniting his side's push for European qualification, scoring five goals in five Bundesliga appearances this month.
"When he understands that he needs to attack the space with his speed and shooting, then he can be a really good player," Kovac said of Marmoush, who has already surpassed his best Bundesliga goal tally for a season.
Marmoush is up against five other players for the award, including Portuguese defender Rafael Guerreiro from Borussia Dortmund, Dutch right-back Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen, striker Marius Bulter from Schalke, Argentine midfielder Exequiel Palacios from Leverkusen, and Serbian defender Erhan Masovic from Bochum.
The winner of the Bundesliga Player of the Month award for March will be announced in the coming days.
