The Photographic Gallery

“Seaside Shadows” a solo exhibition by Egyptian documentary photographer Bassam Ihab. What does photography set on the beach conjure up in our imagination? Pleasant memories depict relaxing, fun, socializing and, most obviously, holidays. In the project Seaside Shadows, Ihab takes us on a somewhat different visual exploration of life alongside the Corniche in Alexandria.
The exhibition features stark black and white photographs enhanced by contrast and shadow, as Ihab presents a dramatized vision of beach life in Alexandria and Marsa Matrouh (closing 22 December).

Takhshena gallery 

“Memory of Place” is an exhibition that explores El Max Chalets area in Alexandria; narrating the relationship between places and human memory by going through the identity of a place, as well as, its history and features. Samar Baiomy and Mohamed Tarek produced a multidisciplinary project, including visual storytelling, writings and sounds, video, in addition to virtual reality technology, to fully document the spirit of the place in an experience like immersion in memories. 

The virtual reality developer, Ziad Feteha, will be operating the virtual experience at Takhshena gallery on the 15th from 7pm and on the 16th from 1pm to 9pm
