The festival celebrates French-speaking culture by showing feature-length and short films, and documentaries from member states of the International Organisation of the Francophonie (OIF).
This year, the festival welcomes many of the most important French-speaking artists, diplomats and specialists.
Headed by Yasser Moheb, the festival aims to strengthen the creative ties between Egypt and the different countries of the French-speaking world, through its various programmes.
These programmes include numerous cinematographic and cultural activities and presentations of the best cinematic experiences in French-speaking countries, in addition to discussions, dialogue sessions, workshops and professional programmes related to the film industry.
The organisers note that the second edition of the festival will take the Egyptian public and filmmakers on a journey through the screens of exhibition halls, initiatives and round tables at the heart of the French-speaking film industry and its arts.
The festival's inaugural edition took place in December 2021, screening 23 feature, documentary and short films from 10 countries. They were presented in two competitive segments: Feature Narrative and Documentary Films Competition, and Competition for Narrative & Documentary Short Films.
The festival's programming has yet to be revealed.
